if the outdoors lets us capture life as it happens, studio photography gives the photographer a completely blank canvas to create from scratch. it lets us connect with our model without the distractions which abound outside. it affords us the light we want to use rather than what is given to us by mother nature. and ultimately it gives us no limitations to our creativity. there really is no look that can't be achieved and whether i work with models from agencies, brands creating look book and editorial images or individual clients looking to boost their personal branding the results can be striking and truly powerful. it has fast become one of my favorite genres of photography.
